Project description:

Main goal of this bilateral project is to exchange knowledge, as well as training and learning of new methodological approaches for Bulgarian and Romanian teams in the field of fluorescence spectroscopy of microbial species in liquids and solid surfaces, photodetection using autofluorescence, as well as photodynamic inactivation studies for evaluation of their applicability for biomedical and ecological applications.

Objectives:

  • Optimized methodology for evaluation of concentration of organic pollutants in water samples and clinical surfaces using florescence and scattering spectral techniques
  • Optimized methodology for photodynamic inactivation of bacterial contaminants on liquids and solid surfaces
  • Optical methods in clinical use: fluorescence spectroscopy and optical coherence tomography
